Protein Ginger Cookies — The Holiday Treat for Your Midlife Wellness Goals

Protein Ginger Cookies — The Holiday Treat for Your Midlife Wellness Goals

Every holiday season used to come with the same loop for me:
Cookies, fudge, lattes… but also: regret, sugar crashes, bloating, and January 1 guilt.
I’d avoid all the treats thinking that was the “smart” move.

Then I realized: what if I didn’t have to choose between joy and my goals?
What if I could bake something cozy, nostalgic, and sweet and still keep my protein up and sugar down?

That’s why I created HelloAmino and these ginger cookies.
Because midlife doesn’t call for deprivation.
It calls for balance.
It calls for treats that don’t derail the progress.
It calls for flavours that feel like December but a body that still feels good on Jan 1st.

📝 Recipe

1 package HelloAmino Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix
1 tbsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp allspice

Wet Ingredients
1 whole large egg plus 1 egg white
1/2 cup room temperature butter
1 tbsp mollasses
1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 375.

Add the spices to the cookie mix and stir well with a whisk to fully combine.

In a large bowl add all the wet ingredients and whisk. It's OK if your butter clumps as long as it was softened to start with.

Add in the dry mix and then using a wooden spoon mix well until fully incorporated and there are no visible butter pieces.

Refrigerate for 45-60 minutes or until dough is set. (Do not skip this step)

Scoop up 2 tbsp of dough per cookie and roll into a ball. Roll in cinnamon sugar and then place on a baking tray two inches apart (no more than 6 per tray). Gently press the cookie to flatten slightly and bake for approximately 10 minutes or until edges are golden.

Let rest on the baking tray for a full 10 minutes before moving over to a rack to fully cool.

For an extra ginger kick add 1/4 tsp ground ginger to the cinnamon sugar before coating the cookies.

Per Cookie: 185 calories 8g P 18g C 10g F

Enjoy with a cup of HelloAmino Holiday Nog and you've got your perfect high protein mid day snack to get you through the Holiday chaos!
